Filling stations in Rajasthan will go on an Indefinite Strike starting from September 15 to protest against high VAT on fuel in the state. The Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers' Association announced that all Filling Stations will not buy or sell goods from/to depots during the strike. The association is demanding equalisation of VAT on petrol and diesel, as is the case in Punjab. Around 6,700 fuel pump owners are participating in the strike, with some petrol pumps in border areas already shut due to losses as people go to neighboring states for cheaper fuel.
