Unvaccinated pupils face 21-day isolation as measles cases rise

Unvaccinated children in London may be required to self-isolate for 21 days due to a sharp increase in Measles Cases. Modelling suggests that up to 160,000 cases could occur in London alone. Low uptake of the MMR vaccine has increased the risk of infection. Letters from local authorities warned parents that if a pupil is infected, classmates who have not received both doses of the MMR vaccine could be sent home to self-isolate. The UK Health Security Agency reported 128 cases of measles in the first half of this year, compared to 54 in the previous year.
