Greater Manchester Police officers have warrant card details stolen in major data hack

Greater Manchester Police Officers have had their warrant card details stolen in a major data breach, following a similar attack on the Metropolitan Police in London. The breach was aimed at a third-party company employed to produce the warrant cards, and while financial details and home addresses were not accessed, data such as names, ranks, and photographs may have been obtained. The National Crime Agency is investigating the incident. This comes after the Metropolitan Police announced an investigation into a suspected data breach last month, and officers in Northern Ireland had their data leaked in the largest security breach in the region's history.
