Former Trump aide Peter Navarro guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress

Former Trump White House trade advisor Peter Navarro has been found guilty of two counts of criminal contempt of Congress. Navarro faces up to a year in prison and his sentencing is scheduled for January 12. He failed to comply with a congressional subpoena, claiming executive privilege at the instruction of former President Donald Trump. Navarro's lawyer plans to move for a mistrial, alleging prejudice by jurors due to protesters' signs. The House committee sought Navarro's testimony regarding efforts to reverse the 2020 election results. Another former Trump aide, Steve Bannon, was also convicted of contempt of Congress last year.
