Friend explains the challenges of rescuing U.S. man from Turkish cave

International rescuers have gathered in southern Turkey to save American caver Mark Dickey, who fell ill while exploring the country's Morca Cave system. Rescuers reached him mid-week and plan to begin the ascent soon. Dickey expressed gratitude for the quick response of the Turkish government in providing medical supplies that saved his life. The rescue operation is described as similar to Himalayan mountain climbing due to the challenging cave conditions. Depending on Dickey's condition, it may take a few days or even two weeks to bring him to the surface. Over 150 rescuers from across Europe are involved in the operation.
