In West Bengal's Nadia district, the Border Security Force and Director of Revenue Intelligence recovered 14.296 kg of gold biscuits worth Rs 8.5 crore from a house near the India-Bangladesh border. Two individuals, including the house owner, were arrested in connection with the smuggling. The smugglers revealed that they received the contraband from two Bangladeshis and were supposed to deliver it to someone in the same district and another border village. However, their plan was thwarted by heightened border surveillance, forcing them to hide the gold in the house.
