Auckland, parts of Northland, and Coromandel are expected to experience Heavy Rain over the next few days. MetService has issued three heavy rain watches, with the heaviest rain expected in Northland and Auckland from Sunday night until Tuesday morning. There is a possibility of thunderstorms in Northland on Monday morning. The rain-band may become stationary at times, increasing rainfall accumulation in certain areas. A heavy rain watch is also in place for Great Barrier Island, the Hunua Range, and Coromandel Peninsula on Tuesday. Severe gales are expected in Wellington, Wairarapa, Marlborough, and Canterbury on Wednesday and Thursday.
