According to a new report by UNICEF, Children in Africa are at high or extremely high risk to the impacts of Climate change, with 48 out of 49 African countries assessed falling into this category. Despite being least responsible for carbon emissions, Africa is disproportionately affected by climate-related disasters such as droughts, flooding, storms, and heatwaves. The report highlights that children are particularly vulnerable to these hazards and calls for increased funding, especially from the private sector, to support adaptation to climate change and invest in climate solutions. The most impacted countries include the Central African Republic, Chad, Nigeria, Guinea, Somalia, and Guinea-Bissau.
