Over 100 schools and colleges in the UK have been instructed to partially or fully close buildings constructed with reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) due to safety concerns. He stated that the government had proactively sought out the evidence and worked with experts to understand the consequences for schools. The closures occurred over the summer but could have happened at any time.
