Disgraced ANC leader forms new party ahead of South Africa’s general elections

Ousted African National Congress (ANC) secretary general, Ace Magashule, has announced the formation of a new party in South Africa called the African Congress for Transformation (ACT). Magashule, a close ally of ex-president Jacob Zuma, was expelled from the ANC two months ago for violating its constitution. The new party includes former members of the ANC and aims to attract South Africans who feel politically abused and betrayed. Magashule himself is facing criminal charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering. It remains uncertain if ACT has been registered with South Africa's electoral commission.
