Lego sales increase while other toy makers struggle

Lego has reported a 1% increase in revenue during the first half of 2023, reaching 27.4 billion Danish krone ($4 billion). In contrast, other toy companies such as Mattel, Hasbro, Funko, and Jakks Pacific have seen double-digit revenue and sales declines. Despite facing macroeconomic pressures and higher costs for materials, shipping, and energy, Lego has continued to outgrow the industry by 10 percentage points over the last four to five years. The company's diverse product line and strong brand have contributed to its success, along with the opening of stores in new markets, particularly in China.
