Sudan’s Al-Burhan heads first cabinet meeting since conflict erupted

Sudan's army head, Abdel Fattah Burhan, held his first Cabinet Meeting with government members since the Conflict Erupted in mid-April. The conflict between the military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has caused chaos and disrupted key sectors such as health and food. However, the information minister expressed optimism that the conflict would soon end. The violence has resulted in the death of at least 4,000 people, according to the UN, but activists and doctors believe the actual death toll is likely much higher. A new initiative called "Sudan Reborn" has been proposed to restart peace talks and establish a lasting cease-fire and unified army.
