President Joe Biden will observe the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks at an Alaska military base with service members and their families. This will be the first time that a president has not attended the traditional observances held in New York City, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Biden will stop in Alaska on his way back from a summit in New Delhi and a visit to Vietnam. Vice President Kamala Harris will participate in the commemoration at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York, and First Lady Jill Biden will lay a wreath at the Pentagon memorial.
