Son Stolen at Birth Hugs Chilean Mother for First Time

A Chilean mother, Maria Angelica Gonzalez, has been reunited with her son, Jimmy Lippert Thyden, 42 years after he was stolen from her at Birth. The reunion was made possible by Chilean nonprofit organization Nos Buscamos, which helps reunite adoptees with their birth families. Thyden's journey to find his birth family began after reading news stories about similar reunions. Nos Buscamos estimates that tens of thousands of babies were taken from Chilean families in the 1970s and 1980s. Thyden's DNA test confirmed his Chilean heritage, and he was able to connect with his birth mother and four siblings.
