Haiti: several displaced by gang attacks near affluent neighborhood

Residents of Carrefour-Feuille in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, were forced to flee their homes due to Gang violence. Unconfirmed reports suggest that houses were looted and burned, and there were casualties. The Haitian National Police promised to secure the area but failed to stop the ongoing violence by gangs. The Carrefour-Feuille neighborhood, close to the affluent district of Pétionville, has been under attack by the Ti Lapli gang since August 13th. Gangs have taken control of up to 80% of the capital since the assassination of President Moise, causing further suffering in impoverished communities.
