PM Degree Row: SC Refuses to Entertain Kejriwal’s Plea Against HC Order in Defamation Case Filed by Guj University

The Supreme Court has refused to entertain Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea to stay criminal defamation proceedings filed by Gujarat University over his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's educational qualification. The defamation case was filed after the Gujarat High Court set aside an order for providing information about Modi's degrees to Kejriwal and AAP leader Sanjay Singh under the RTI Act. The Supreme Court stated that the matter is pending before the Gujarat High Court and can be raised there. The case is scheduled for hearing on August 29.
