No sign surface-to-air missile took down Wagner chief’s plane, U.S. says

The U.S. intelligence community is still investigating the cause of the Plane crash that likely killed Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, but there is no evidence so far that a surface-to-air missile brought down the plane, according to the Pentagon. Another possible cause being explored is an explosion onboard the plane. Prigozhin was one of 10 people listed on the manifest of a private plane that crashed in the Tver region outside Moscow. The Wagner group, which attempted a mutiny in Moscow two months ago, has largely disbanded in Ukraine but still operates in other countries, particularly in Africa.
