‘Thanks India For its G20 Presidency’: WHO Chief Lauds Ayushman Bharat Scheme

World Health Organisation Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, praised India for its Ayushman Bharat Scheme and advanced health coverage at the G20 Health Ministers’ Meeting in Gujarat. He commended India for their steps in advancing Universal Health Coverage and the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which is the world's largest health assurance initiative. He also expressed gratitude for India's G20 Presidency and their leadership in the Global Digital Health Initiative. The G20 Health Ministers' meeting aims to focus on health emergencies prevention, pharmaceutical cooperation, and digital health innovations. India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1, 2022.
