No Structure Razed Against Law, Demolitions Not Remotely Case of Ethnic Cleansing: Haryana Govt

The Haryana government has defended its demolition drive in Nuh, stating that no structures were demolished against the law and that it was not a case of Ethnic Cleansing. The district administration reported that 283 Muslims and 71 Hindus were affected by the demolitions. The government stated that it did not adopt a pick and choose policy based on religion and that due procedure of law was followed. The demolitions came under scrutiny from the high court, which questioned if it was an exercise of ethnic cleansing. A 400-page reply has been prepared by the state, detailing the procedures followed.
