A 39-year-old man has been Arrested in connection to a major data breach at the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). The arrest was made on suspicion of collecting information likely to be of use to terrorists. Last week, the Psni revealed that a document containing the names of around 10,000 officers and staff had been mistakenly shared online in response to a Freedom of Information request. The information is believed to be in the hands of dissident republicans, who pose a threat to the safety of police officers in Northern Ireland. The current threat level is assessed as severe.
