In Mali, the army recovers a UN base coveted by the former Tuareg rebellion

The United Nations Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) has withdrawn from a camp in the north of the country due to security concerns and the high risks faced by its personnel. The camp, which was coveted by the former Tuareg Rebellion, has been recovered by the Malian army. The withdrawal of MINUSMA from Mali, as decided by the UN Security Council, is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Tensions have been escalating in the Ber area between the army, the Russian paramilitary group Wagner, and the Coordination of Movements of Azawad (CMA).
