Nuh Violence: ‘Mahapanchayat’ Announces Resumption of VHP Yatra, Demands Arms for ‘Self Defence’

A Hindu 'mahapanchayat' held in Haryana's Palwal announced the resumption of the VHP's Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh on August 28, which was previously disrupted by communal Violence in July. The 'mahapanchayat' also demanded an NIA probe into the attack on the yatra, declaring Nuh a cow slaughter-free district, and relaxation in securing arms licences for self-defence for Hindus in the Muslim-dominated district. The gathering was attended by local BJP leaders and various Hindu outfits, including the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal. The clashes in Nuh resulted in six deaths and stray incidents of violence in Gurugram.
