Record-setting Wildfires in Canada are expected to continue burning at a high rate for several more weeks, with the spread of blazes likely to diminish in September, according to federal projections. Forest fires have affected almost all 13 Canadian provinces and territories this year, resulting in home evacuations, disruptions in energy production, and the loss of four firefighters. Over 134,000 square kilometers of land have been scorched, more than six times the 10-year average, and nearly 168,000 people have been forced to evacuate. The fires have also released a significant amount of carbon emissions, raising concerns about their impact on the atmosphere.
