Turkish investigative reporter Baris Pehlivan is facing his fifth imprisonment in three years after being ordered back behind bars by text message. Pehlivan, who recently published a book accusing Turkey's former interior minister of links to organized crime, has been widely condemned by international human rights and media freedom organizations. Pehlivan and six other journalists were previously sentenced to prison for reporting on the funeral of a member of Turkey's secret services. Despite his conditional release in May, Pehlivan has been subjected to ongoing judicial harassment, and press freedom groups are calling for his release.
