U.S. destroyers sent to Alaska after Chinese, Russian warships spotted nearby

The US Navy deployed four destroyer ships to the coast of Alaska in response to 11 Russian and Chinese warships patrolling nearby international waters. The joint operation between China and Russia was described as "unprecedented" by Senator Dan Sullivan. US aircraft were also present in the area, and the US Coast Guard regularly patrols the region. While the Chinese and Russian ships remained in international waters and were not considered a threat, the incident highlights the close cooperation between the two countries and the growing tensions with the US over Taiwan and Ukraine.
