Workers in Ukraine have started installing the country's coat of arms on the Motherland Monument in Kyiv, replacing the Soviet hammer and sickle. The monument, inaugurated in 1981, stands over 62 meters tall and depicts a woman holding a sword and shield. The installation of the trident, which is the country's coat of arms, is expected to be completed before Ukraine's Independence Day on August 24th.
