Morocco minibus plunge kills 24

A minibus in Morocco plunged into a ravine, killing all 24 people on board in one of the country's worst-ever Road Accidents. The passengers were traveling to a weekly market when the minibus overturned on a bend. The vehicle was found crushed at the bottom of the ravine. Accidents on Moroccan roads are frequent, with thousands of road deaths recorded annually. The government aims to halve the mortality rate by 2026. Similar road accidents have occurred in neighboring countries such as Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. In Egypt, around 7,000 people died in road accidents in 2020.
