Kidnapped U.S. nurse “fell in love with the people” of Haiti after 2010 quake

Alix Dorsainvil, an American Nurse working for the Christian humanitarian organization El Roi Haiti, was kidnapped along with her child near Port-au-Prince in Haiti. Dorsainvil had first visited Haiti after the 2010 earthquake and fell in love with the people, leading her to return frequently. The State Department advises against travel to Haiti due to widespread kidnapping, and federal officials in the US are in contact with Haitian authorities regarding the kidnapping. El Roi has requested that people refrain from speculating on social media and direct questions to the organization's board.
