This man had a ‘poor’ credit rating because of a glitch at Equifax. Now, he’s warning others

Velimir Drecun, a customer of Meridian Credit Union, discovered that a glitch at Equifax had caused his credit rating to plummet. His score on Equifax was 526, 150 points lower than on another credit bureau. The glitch had duplicated a maxed-out credit card on his Equifax report. Equifax confirmed that the issue affects customers across Canada and is working to resolve it by September. Drecun warns other Meridian customers to check their Equifax credit scores. The discrepancy in credit scores can have a significant impact on obtaining credit, potentially forcing customers to turn to private lenders instead of banks.
