SpaceX hasn’t obtained environmental permits for ‘flame deflector’ system it’s testing in Texas

SpaceX conducted a "full-pressure test" of a flame deflector system at its Starship Super Heavy launch site in Texas without obtaining the necessary Environmental Permits. The permits would allow the company to discharge industrial process wastewater into the surrounding area, as required by federal regulations. The water deluge system is designed to diffuse heat, sound, and energy generated by test flights and launches of SpaceX's largest rocket. The site is located near wetlands that are important for endangered species and the indigenous population. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has confirmed that SpaceX did not apply for the required permit.
