Last of dozens of pilot whales stranded in Australia euthanized

Nearly 100 Pilot Whales became stranded on Cheynes Beach in Western Australia. Despite rescue efforts by officials and volunteers, more than half of the whales had already died by Wednesday morning. On Thursday, the remaining 45 whales were euthanized after they became re-stranded further along the beach. The decision to euthanize the whales was made to avoid prolonging their suffering. The incident has left those involved devastated, but they are grateful for the support and efforts made to try to save the animals.
