Four Fishermen from Naseerpur village in Kushambi, Uttar Pradesh, have been booked for illegally catching a dolphin from the Yamuna river and eating it. One of the fishermen has been arrested after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The dolphin was trapped in a net on July 22 and the fishermen brought it to a house where they cooked and ate it. A case has been registered against the fishermen under the Wildlife Protection Act (1972) and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
