A new robotic medic developed by the University of Sheffield has the potential to save lives in high-risk emergency environments, such as radiation zones or war zones, where it may be too dangerous for Human Medics to operate. The robot can be controlled remotely by human medics and has two robotic arms that can perform medical tasks such as checking a patient's temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and administering injections. The technology, developed in just nine months, combines medical devices with state-of-the-art robotics systems and has the capability to perform critical initial assessments of casualties within 20 minutes.
