Tiny Baby That Fit Inside Mom’s Hand is Home Laughing After 181 Days in Hospital Not Expected to Survive

A Baby born 16 weeks premature in Pennsylvania has defied the odds and is thriving at home after spending 181 days in the hospital. Zaylan, born to first-time mom Krysten Risbon, had a hole in his heart and required constant oxygen. Despite doctors initially saying he wouldn't survive, Zaylan made it and is now doing well. Inspired by the care they received, Krysten is studying to become a neonatal intensive care unit nurse. Zaylan was born weighing just 1 lb 6 oz and had surgery for an eye disease. He was able to come home on June 21, 2023.
