‘A tough couple months’: Flood forces 750 Halifax residents from their homes

Hundreds of Halifax Residents have been forced from their homes due to flooding, with some seeking refuge at a comfort center in Dartmouth. Many residents had already experienced an evacuation during the Tantallon-area fires in May. The evacuation process was described as chaotic, with a bus transporting people to the comfort center blowing a tire. The comfort center, operated by the Red Cross, is providing support to displaced individuals and will remain open until people can return home or find alternative accommodations. The Halifax Regional Municipality has advised residents to stay off the road and away from floodwater.
