Pushkar Dhami Declares Waterlogged Areas of Haridwar ‘disaster-prone’

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has declared waterlogged areas in Haridwar as "disaster-prone" due to heavy rains and floods. He has deferred payment of electricity and water bills, government dues, and loans for three months. Landslides caused by heavy rains have blocked several places, including the Badrinath and Yamunotri National Highway. Dhami has announced the distribution of relief money and the development of a flood management plan. Due to heavy rains, 71 villages in Haridwar district have been submerged, forcing families to leave their homes. The Badrinath, Rishikesh-Yamunotri, and Karnaprayag-Gairsain National Highways have also been affected.
