McDonald’s sets up investigations unit after more than 100 claims of harassment from workers

McDonald's UK has established an investigations unit to address sexual Harassment and bullying allegations after over 100 workers reported incidents of harassment, assault, racism, and bullying. Alistair Macrow, the UK and Ireland CEO, acknowledged that the company had "fallen short" and expressed his shock and apology to those affected. The unit, led by HR and legal professionals, will refer cases to specialist investigators and may result in severe measures, including dismissal. External experts will also be appointed to evaluate the effectiveness and accessibility of McDonald's complaint escalation process. In 2019, the company signed an agreement with the equality watchdog to improve its handling of sexual harassment allegations.
