Cows fitted with mini-loudspeakers playing beats have been trained to stay within their Grazing zones to protect an Ancient Woodland in Shropshire. The Dexter cows are grazing around the Little Doward hill fort in the Wye Valley to boost biodiversity and spur woodland growth. A solar-powered collar with a small device plays a musical trill as the cows approach a virtual fence tracked by GPS. The cows have been trained to avoid the noise by electrical pulses, which are also triggered if the Cow wanders too far over the invisible fence.
