An elderly Bjp Worker, Buran Murmu, was found hanging in his home in Malda district, West Bengal. Villagers protested, accusing local Trinamool Congress leaders of abetment. Murmu's daughter-in-law had contested and lost in the recent panchayat elections on a TMC ticket, leading to alleged assault by his son and other Trinamool supporters. Malda North BJP MP Khagen Murmu claimed that Buran was tortured by Trinamool supporters after the election results.
