22 dead after torrential rain, landslides and floods engulf South Korea

Heavy rain in South Korea has led to at least 22 deaths and 14 people missing, according to the government. The fatalities occurred in landslides, floods, and other incidents in the central and southeastern regions. The heavy rainfall has also forced thousands of people to evacuate and left numerous households without electricity. Flights were canceled, train services were suspended, and many roads remain closed. The country's weather agency predicts that some areas will continue to experience heavy rain until Sunday. President Yoon Suk Yeol has called for all available resources to be mobilized to respond to the disaster.
