Despite relaxations in rules announced by the Centre, hurdles in obtaining CRZ clearance are preventing investors from funding these projects. The government is considering a proposal to develop a port at Mavinakurve in Uttara Kannada district under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. Additionally, a mini-floating jetty will be constructed at Karwar, and a proposal for another floating jetty in Mangaluru is pending.
