Sudan's capital, Khartoum, experienced a communications blackout for several hours on Friday as fighting between the army and paramilitary forces intensified. Witnesses reported violent clashes, black smoke rising near army headquarters, and fighter jets and drones flying overhead. Aid groups have warned of the risk of water-borne diseases and called for humanitarian corridors to allow aid and personnel through.
