India-France Defence Cooperation to See ‘Ground-Breaking’ Projects in Jet Engines, Submarines

India and France have announced several defense cooperation projects, including the joint development of jet and helicopter engines and the construction of three Scorpene submarines for the Indian Navy. The two countries also expressed commitment to co-develop and co-produce advanced defense technologies. While there was no mention of the anticipated procurement of 26 naval variants of Rafale fighter jets, a document outlining a 25-year roadmap highlighted the "timely delivery" of the 36 Rafale jets already purchased by India.
