Two Leading Opponents of Tunisian President Kais Saied, Chaima Issa and Lazhar Akremi, have been released after spending over five months in jail. They were among 20 opposition, media, and business figures who were arrested in February on charges of "conspiracy against state security." Chaima Issa expressed her happiness at being free but also highlighted the injustice still faced by her friends who remain in prison. Earlier, around 100 protesters gathered in Tunisia's capital to demand the release of the detained critics of President Saied, who has ruled by decree for the past two years.
