UN report finds increase in global hunger

A new UN report reveals that global Hunger has increased since 2019, with 122 million more people facing hunger compared to two years ago. While hunger has decreased in Asia and Latin America, it is rising in Western Asia, the Caribbean, and particularly Africa, which remains the worst affected continent. Africa has double the global average of people facing hunger, with one in five Africans being affected. Almost 30% of the global population, or 2.4 billion people, lack everyday access to food, and 900 million face severe food insecurity. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goal of ending hunger by 2030 will be even more challenging due to this rise in hunger.
