Bahrain, Turkey are Middle East’s biggest eaters: Oxford rankings

According to a ranking by Oxford University's Our World in Data, Bahrain, Turkey, and Israel have the highest average daily Calorie Consumption in the Middle East and North Africa region. Bahrain is the only country in the world where daily calorie consumption exceeds 4,000 kilocalories. Turkey ranks as the world's fifth biggest eater, while Israel and Algeria are also among the top 20 globally. Yemen, on the other hand, has an average calorie consumption below the recommended level due to the ongoing war. The rankings are based on data from the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization.
