Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard is facing new Sexual Assault charges in Winnipeg, in addition to charges in Toronto, Quebec, and the United States. The Winnipeg Police Service announced that the offences allegedly occurred in November 1993 and involve a victim who was then 20 years old. Nygard has been in custody since December 2020 after being arrested on a provisional warrant on behalf of US prosecutors. He is set to be extradited to the US once his Canadian charges are resolved. Nygard's Quebec sexual assault trial is scheduled to begin in June 2024.
