Woolworths will be the first Australian retailer to sell Tearless Onions called "Happy Chop Tearless Onions." These onions contain fewer chemicals that cause tears when they are cut. The onions will be available in stores across NSW, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory from July 12 until September. The tearless onions were developed using natural methods, including cross-breeding existing onion varieties. They promise to retain the flavor of regular brown onions but are slightly sweeter.
