Private sector companies added 497,000 jobs in June, more than double expectations, ADP says

According to payroll processing firm ADP, Private Sector Companies in the US added 497,000 jobs in June, more than double the expected amount. This surge in job creation is the largest monthly rise since July 2022. The leisure and hospitality sector led with 232,000 new hires, followed by construction with 97,000. While wage growth continues to slow, annual pay rose at a rate of 6.4%, indicating inflationary pressures. This unexpected increase in payrolls comes despite the Federal Reserve's efforts to cool down the job market. The Department of Labor's nonfarm payrolls report is expected to show an increase of 240,000.
