Wildfire in Kelowna, B.C. under control, but evacuation alerts to stay

The Knox Mountain Wildfire in Kelowna, B.C. is now under control, but an evacuation alert remains in place for properties around Knox Mountain Park. The park itself is closed until further notice. The fire, suspected to be caused by human activity, covers an area of 6.5 hectares. Flare-ups and burning tree roots are still a concern, and people are prohibited from entering the active fire zone. The prompt reporting of the fire by the public was appreciated by the B.C. Wildfire Service. Residents under the evacuation alert should prepare to evacuate with little notice.
